The Zentek family farm was established in 1914 in rural Cheshire, Connecticut, originally primarily raising livestock and growing vegetables. For decades, the farm thrived, adapting to changing agricultural needs. In 1972, owner Paul Zentek began to transition his family farm into a greenhouse operation, expanding into the cultivation of flowering plants and vegetable plants, while still maintaining our vegetable fields as part of our long-standing tradition.

 

Today, we proudly supply high-quality wholesale potted plants, hanging flowers, and vegetable plants to retail outlets, nurseries, and garden centers across New England, New Jersey, and New York. Our easy-to-unload cart system ensures a smooth and efficient transfer of products. From the first planting and daily hands-on care by our growers to shipping and accounting, every aspect of our operation reflects our commitment to quality and service.

 

Our farm spans 65 acres, combining both greenhouse space and vegetable fields, ensuring a diverse and thriving agricultural operation. Within our five acres of covered and open-sided greenhouses, we grow thousands of flats of annuals, 10-inch hanging baskets, and a variety of other plant items, while our outdoor fields continue to produce fresh vegetables. This balance of greenhouse production and traditional farming is a testament to the dedication and passion that have sustained Zentek Farms for over a century.
